Q&A's

  What is Permanent Cosmetics?
Permanent cosmetics is the art of implanting special pigment (color) in the second layer (dermis) of the skin with the use of specially designed instruments.

  Is the procedure painful?
A topical anesthetic is used which makes the procedure more comfortable than anticipated. Could be compared to electrolysis or tweezing.

How long does the procedure take?
Each procedure will take between one to two hours. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled approximately four weeks later.  This appointment will allow for additional color or slight adjustments to color or shape to be made. This is included in the original fee.

  What colors should I choose?
There is a right color for everyone. Your natural skin tone, hair color and eye color will be taken into consideration. The preferred goal is to create a soft, natural enhancement.

I have a very thin sparse eyebrows and/or thin lips. Will they look natural?
Yes. Permanent makeup looks more natural than eyebrow pencil or lip liner pencil. A soft fill-in effect similar to brush on brow can be done for the brows. The definition of the lip line can be achieved by matching the lip color.

Will I have to take time off work?
No. There is minimal swelling and redness. Any swelling
is usually gone in 24 to 36 hours. Ice may be used to reduce the swelling if needed.

Can I wear makeup after the procedure is done?
No mascara or lipstick should be worn after eyeliner and lip color procedures for at least 24 hours.

  What is the healing time?
In the first week, the area where the color has been applied will appear darker and more pronounced than when healed. In approximately five to seven days you will experience a mild crusting and flaking of the treated area. Seventy to eighty percent of the color will remain. The follow up procedure will be performed four weeks later and the healing process will be repeated.

How long does permanent makeup last?
This procedure is considered permanent, although most clients will experience fading and choose to return for periodic color brightening touch-ups anywhere from one to five years after the initial procedure. This is due to body chemistry and life style. There is a minimal fee for touch-ups.

  What about sterilization?
Only a single-use, sterile needle clusters are used. All other equipment is either discarded after use or sanitized. All guidelines are strictly followed in accordance with the CDC (Center for Disease Control).
